Yesterday, the entire social media went agog for this pair who have validated many dreams about fairy love stories. No, it was no longer a movie, it was happening live. From Banky’s love letter to Adesua’s response, everything rolled out so sweetly. Two days earlier, EveAfrique had Banky W on our stage during the Women Must 2017 festal where he wowed the entire audience. Little did we know that something amazing was cooking.
While we hope to keep this fairy tale going by wishing them a blissful union, here are five things you probably did not know about this magical duo:
♥ They actually met in 2012 and became friends in 2015… “Dear Susu, We crossed paths 2 or 3 times since 2012, but I wasn’t paying enough attention. Destiny was staring me right in the face and I was too caught up in my own hustle and paper chase, to know it. In June 2015 however, God brought you my way again, and this time, I really SAW you.” Banky wrote.
♥ They pray a lot! Yes, they do… “I bless God for entrusting my heart in your hands because I know it’s safe. You are everything I prayed for and so much more. Thank you for praying with me, fasting with me, always making time for me, laughing with me, and caring more about me than yourself. Thank you for being kind, loving and full of Integrity.” This was from Adesua. Then Banky wrote: I knew pretty early in the process that I wanted to spend forever with you. Prayed about it fervently. But it took you FOREVER (okay fine.. maybe a year and a half or so) to see things my way. But I kinda knew all along.. I was just waiting for you to catch up.”
♥ They are a mysterious and reserved couple. They actually have been engaged since February but only recently made it public. Banky ended his letter with this: “In February of 2017, I asked Adesua Tolulope Oluwaseun Etomi to be my wife. She said Yes.” In the news-passionate world of today, somehow, they managed to keep it private until they were ready to break it! Thumbs up to them.
♥ They are from two different cultures and backgrounds. While Banky’s father is from Badagry, his mother is from Calabar, Cross Rivers. Adesua’s father is of Esan descent and her mother of Yoruba descent. She was born in Owerri, Imo State and Banky was born in the U.S.
♥ They attended the same school! Oh, well not literally. Banky W attended Corona Primary School, Lagos and Adesua went to Corona Secondary School, Victoria Island, Lagos. What coincidence!
RMD posted on instagram @mofedamijo, “Awwww… My babies, your love brings happiness to my spirit and tears of joy to my heart. I’m proud of the man you @bankywellington are and you my sweetheart @adesuaetomi are one of the few young people who give me hope in this generation. That both of you know Christ the way you do and love him with your hearts is such a joy. Now that we’ve gone public, let’s go wild with the wedding planning. Papa bear is proud of you both. God bless this union.”and Banky responded @ bankywellington “Ahhh thanks so much Pops We love you too.”
Since the engagement, Banky has taken the bride-to-be to his family to get them all acquainted. And from the looks in the pictures, Adesua is already settling in as a part of the Wellington family. A million congratulations to the duo as we look forward to more fairies!
