Finima Community Maps out Masterplan for Development

With plans of development in sight, a two-day workshop has been organized in
Finima community, Bonny Local Government to discover ways of transforming the town to a mega city.

This action is an effort by the Amadabo in council of Finima led by Aseme Alabo Dagogo Lambert Brown, who stressed that expertise on globalization is needed to transform Finima town into a ‘mini Dubai’.

Titled ‘Towards an Urbanized Finima Community’, the three percent of the operational budget of oil companies as contained in the Petroleum Industry Act 2021 is set to go to two communities (Finima included), and this triggered the need for the discussion the workshop entails.

According to the Amadabo Dagogo Brown, Finima hosts an abundance of investment opportunities allowing for real estate ventures, hospitality business, commerce and trading manufacturing business amongst others to prosper.

Also present were members of the Finima community as well as experts in different fields who gathered to hear from the Amadabo in Council, and also to deliberate on strategies to be employed masterplan the town’s developmental transformation.

According to Eugene Abels, a development activist, this plan would make it easier for anyone at any level of government to see that the people of Finima community have identified their needs, and to understand how they plan to meet these needs.
