180th Special Exco meeting: Gov. Diri leads valedictory session for late Deputy Governor

Bayelsa State Government today, held a special valedictory executive council session in honour of Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, late deputy of the state.
Speaking at the executive council chambers of government house in Yenagoa, Governor Douye Diri described the late Ewhrudjakpo as a reliable partner who shared in the vision of building Bayelsa State over the past six years.
The governor flanked by his wife, Justice (Mrs.) Patience Ama Diri, while condoling the Ewhrudjakpo family and Bayelsans over the loss, thanked the Nigerian Governor’s forum and the Deputy Governor’s forum for their solidarity at these trying times.
”We have shared a common vision, the vision of advancing and building Bayelsa State, and together, we sought to translate that noble from mere words into reality through policies, programmes and projects touching education, infrastructure, health, human capital and peace building across our communities.
Let me on behalf of the government of assured prosperity and the people of Bayelsa State, extend our deepest condolences to the widow of our deputy governor and his children, and indeed, the extended Ewhrudjakpo family. While the state has lost a leader, you have lost a husband, father, brother and a pillar of support.”
We pray that God Almighty, will grant his family and all of us so heavily impacted by his sudden death, the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss,” Governor Diri stated.
Highpoint of the valedictory session were tributes from the Nigerian Governors’ forum, delivered by Chairman of the Forum and Governor of Kwara state, Abdulrahman Abdulrazak, the deputy Governors’ forum, delivered by Ikechukwu Emetu, Head of Service of the Federation, Dame (Mrs.) Didi Esther Walson-Jack, deputy governor of Abia state, members of the state executive council and others.
The wife of late Deputy Governor, Barr.(Mrs.) Beatrice Ewhrudjakpo and the children were in attendance.
