Burna Boy Pledges to Fund Funerals of Children Killed in U.S. Birthday Party Mass Shooting

Nigerian music star Burna Boy has offered to cover the funeral expenses of the four children killed in the recent mass shooting at a birthday party in Stockton, California.

The Grammy winner said he felt a deep emotional connection after hearing about the tragedy on The Breakfast Club radio show. He later reached out to music executive Wack 100 and media personality Jason Lee to extend support to the grieving families.

“When I heard about the children murdered in Stockton, my heart broke… No family should ever face this kind of pain alone. I wanted to do whatever I could to support these parents as they begin the long process of healing,” Burna Boy said in a statement.

The singer was particularly touched by the story of 14-year-old Amari Peterson, a 3.8 GPA student-athlete whose life was cut short.

Stockton Vice Mayor Jason Lee praised the gesture, saying Burna Boy’s compassion reflects the global outpouring of support for the affected families.

The November 29 attack occurred inside a crowded banquet hall where 100 to 150 people had gathered for a children’s birthday party. Four youths were killed and 11 others injured. Identified victims include eight-year-old Maya Lupian and 21-year-old Susano Archuleta.

The San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office said early findings suggest the shooting was a “targeted incident,” with investigations still ongoing. Sheriff Patrick Withrow added that authorities are confident the attack was not random.

A $25,000 reward has been announced for information leading to an arrest.
