The Kalabari Unity Football Cup has been officially unveiled by DA Amakiri Tubo, Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo-Asari, Dabaye Amakiri I, Amanyanabo of the Source, Torusarama Piri (Elem Kalabari), Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo-Asari, in the company of the Chairman of Asari-Toru Local Government, Onengiye-Ofori George, at his residence in Harry’s Town, Degema Local Government Area of Rivers State. 
The Special Adviser on the project, Jack Lloyd, led members of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) and coaches from various communities to the unveiling, where he briefed the Amanyanabo on the level of preparedness for the tournament.
The LOC is headed by Competition Manager Ere Dokubo, who also serves as Technical Adviser to Mighty Jets of Jos. Other members include FIFA-certified coach and former Kano Pillars manager, Sani Lawan; Executive Secretary of Gboru SE, Selema Kalada Wokoma; Mrs. Enesiya Omofaye; Amb. Hope Havard Erekosima; and Amb. Madodoye Ipalibo.
Organisers said the tournament is aimed at promoting unity, discovering football talents and ensuring inclusivity across Kalabari communities.
Special appreciation was extended to the chairmen of AKULGA, ASALGA and DELGA, as well as other well-meaning and unity-driven Kalabari stakeholders for their support. The 2025 Gboru SE Tournament will be staged under the theme, “We Are Greater Together.”
