The three-day retreat, themed “Consolidating Performance and Repositioning the Commission for Strategic Impact in 2026,” is aimed at promoting self-examination, renewed focus, and improved service delivery across the Commission.

According to the NDDC, the retreat provides an opportunity for management to reflect on shared commitments, align priorities with measurable outcomes, and advance a results-driven agenda that delivers sustainable development to communities in the Niger Delta.

Participants are expected to reassess operational standards, review the Commission’s code of conduct, and strengthen adherence to institutional values. The retreat also serves as a platform to evaluate internal processes and ensure alignment with the Commission’s mandate and public expectations.

Beyond policy discussions, the gathering emphasizes the importance of internal cohesion, enhanced collaboration, and mutual accountability. By fostering unity of purpose and reinforcing ethical standards, the Commission aims to improve efficiency, promote transparency, and strengthen public trust.

The retreat further focuses on innovation, teamwork, and institutional excellence, with sessions dedicated to performance review, leadership development, strategic agenda setting, and action-oriented outcomes.

Guided by these objectives, the 2026 Management Retreat is expected to position the NDDC for a more focused, disciplined, and impactful operational year, as it seeks to consolidate gains and address emerging development challenges in the region.
