The Rotary Club of Port Harcourt Cosmopolitan hosted its International Night and Charity Fashion Show on April 19, 2026, at Cecilia Cuisine Oak Park, No. 1 Ken Saro-Wiwa Road (Stadium Road), Port Harcourt, in a colourful celebration of culture, creativity, and compassion.
The event brought together guests from diverse backgrounds for an evening that blended entertainment with a strong humanitarian purpose.
In her remarks, the President of the club, Rotarian Iwo Edward-Pepple, stressed the importance of inclusion and the collective responsibility to support the wellbeing of children with special needs. She noted that initiatives like this not only celebrate creativity but also inspire meaningful community impact.
Organised in partnership with the Stitches of Ability Foundation, the initiative focused on raising awareness and support for children with special needs. The atmosphere was lively and engaging, featuring a rich display of cultural expressions and a well-curated fashion showcase that highlighted both talent and purpose.
The runway featured impressive collections from notable designers, including Jazz Effects, Distinguished Options by Daye Horsfall, Flo Apparels Ltd, D.D.E Designs and Damsel Couture. Each presentation reflected originality and craftsmanship, adding elegance and vibrancy to the event while reinforcing its message.
The event also showcased clothing items made by children from the Stitches of Ability Foundation. The pieces were displayed to attendees, attracting significant interest and sales. The quality of the outfits and shoes underscored the message that there is great ability in disability.
The event concluded on a high note, leaving attendees inspired by the fusion of fashion and philanthropy, as well as a shared commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable children.
