As the 4th session of (ISA) Africa’s Deep Seabed Resources Project held in Abuja comes to an end, Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the International Seabed Authority (ISA), H.E Maureen Tamuno Ph.D led the Secretary General of ISA H.E Mr Michael Lodge and his team, on a courtesy call to the State House Abuja.
On getting to State House the Team was received by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria , H.E President Muhammadu Buhari.
H.E Maureen Tamuno was accompanied by Ag.Director, Maritime Boundaries Department, National Boundary Commission, Mr. Nurudeen Abba and the Deputy Director (Head Protocol) NIMASA, Oluoha Nancy. Mrs Omosulu Second Secretary Nigeria High Commission Jamaica.
The Secretary General of the ISA and his team are in Nigeria along with other active members of the ISA including Representatives of 8 African Countries and International Marine science and Environmentalists for the 4th session of the ISA Africa Deep Sea Resources (ADSR) workshop which was held in Abuja Nigeria between October 5-7th 2022.
In attendance was Ag.Director, Maritime Boundaries Department, National Boundary Commission, Mr. Nurudeen Abba, the Deputy Director (Head Protocol) NIMASA, Oluoha Nancy, Mrs Omosulu Second Secretary Nigeria High Commission Jamaica, President Muhammadu Buhari, Secretary General of International Seabed Authority (ISA), Mr Michael Lodge, Nigerian Ambassador to Jamaica, Ms. Maureen Tamuno, DG Boundary Commission, Mr Amadu Adaji, Rear Admiral CE. Okafor, Director Ministry of Transportation, Chief of Staff and Head of Strategic Planning Unit, Dr Manrie Bourell-Mckinon and Legal Officer Mrs Talatu Akindolire, Chief of Staff Prof Ibrahim Gambari, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, Legal Officer, Mrs Talatu Akindolire
Nigeria hosted the just concluded workshop for the first time, with support from focal agencies like National Boundary Commission, and Nimasa.
