Traxport Rail Services Nigeria Strengthens Rail Sector Ties with CRRC Ziyang in China.
In a significant move to advance Nigeria’s freight rail sector, a high-level delegation from Traxport Rail Services Nigeria, led by Chairman Emeka Ndu, embarked on a strategic visit to CRRC Ziyang Co., Ltd., a global leader in locomotive manufacturing. This visit marks a crucial step toward modernizing Nigeria’s rail infrastructure through cutting-edge technology, international partnerships, and sustainable transport solutions.
The delegation included Eric Li (Traxport China), Soji Maurice-Diya (CEO, Traxport), Dakuku Peterside (Director, Traxport), and Karl Watts (Technical Partner, Railmotive UK). They were warmly received by Steven Zou, Executive Vice President of CRRC Ziyang, and the company’s leadership team.
During the visit, the team toured CRRC Ziyang’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities, observed live demonstrations of advanced diesel-electric and hybrid locomotives, and engaged in high-level discussions on engineering innovation.
Key focus areas of the engagement included:
Strategic Rail Modernization: Enhancing efficiency, minimizing environmental impact, and integrating smart rail technologies.
Locomotive Procurement: Exploring the acquisition of high-performance locomotives tailored to Nigeria’s terrain and freight needs.
Capacity Building: Developing training programs to equip Nigerian engineers, operators, and technicians with world-class expertise.
The visit aligns with Nigeria’s broader agenda to build a modern, efficient, and globally competitive rail system. By leveraging CRRC Ziyang’s expertise, Traxport Rail Services aims to accelerate freight mobility, bolster industrial development, and position Nigeria as a regional hub for advanced rail transport.
