Widows Fellowship Forum Elelenwo Holds End-of-Year Celebration in Rivers Community

The Eheleze Town Hall in Elelenwo came alive with songs and jubilation on Saturday, December 20, 2025, as the Widows Fellowship Forum Elelenwo held its annual end-of-year celebration.

The event, which commenced at 9:00 a.m., was declared open with a welcome address by the founder, Chief Solomon Chukwu, the Sarima I of Orokpotoma Kingdom, who reflected on the journey of the fellowship since its inception 20 years ago.

Chief Chukwu said the forum was established with a vision to support, uplift and provide a sense of community for widows, expressing gratitude to God for sustaining the fellowship over the years. He described the gathering as a celebration of two decades of love, faith and shared resilience.

The celebration featured spirited praise and worship, Bible recitations and testimonies from members, creating an atmosphere of joy and encouragement. Widows, dressed elegantly for the occasion, actively participated in hymns and prayers.

As part of the programme, gift items including wrappers, bags of rice, salt, sachets of tomatoes and raw beef were distributed to the widows, drawing smiles and appreciation from beneficiaries.

In a highlight of the event, the fellowship presented a Thank You Award to Lady Rasheedatu in recognition of her selfless service as a helper to the association over the past two years. Her recognition was met with loud applause from attendees.

The event concluded with prayers, reaffirming the fellowship’s commitment to unity, compassion and support, as members described the forum not just as an organisation, but as a family built on faith, care and hope.
