Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, will on September 29 swear in 57 new Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANs) as part of activities marking the formal commencement of the 2025/2026 legal year of the Supreme Court.

Other key stakeholders in the justice sector are also billed to deliver remarks, including the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, the Chairman of the Body of Senior Advocates of Nigeria (BOSAN), and the President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA).
The Supreme Court had embarked on its annual vacation on July 21, after what was described as a remarkably successful 2024/2025 legal year.
According to the statement, all events scheduled for the formal commencement of the new legal year will begin at 10 a.m. on the said date.
