Abuja Business and Investment Expo 2025: Empowering Sustainable Growth and Unlocking Potential in Emerging Markets

Abuja, Nigeria — The Abuja Business and Investment Expo (ABIS) 2025 officially commenced yesterday, October 22, 2025, at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, Herbert Macaulay Way, Garki, Abuja, and will run through October 24, 2025.

The three-day summit, themed “Empowering Sustainable Growth: Unlocking Potential in Emerging Markets,” has drawn global and local business leaders, policymakers, investors, and innovators to Nigeria’s capital for a strategic exchange on sustainable development and economic transformation.

Convened by Her Excellency Dr. Maureen P. Tamuno, Group Managing Director of the Abuja Investments Company Limited (AICL), the Expo reflects her vision of unlocking Africa’s immense potential through innovation, strategic collaboration, and targeted investment

In her opening remarks, Dr. Tamuno highlighted the need for synergy between government and private enterprise, emphasizing that sustainable economic growth requires deliberate partnerships and forward-thinking leadership. She reaffirmed AICL’s commitment to positioning Abuja as a leading destination for business and investment across Africa.

Serving as Chief Host and Special Guest of Honour, the Honourable Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), His Excellency Barr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, was celebrated for his leadership in redefining growth and infrastructure development across the FCT. His message reinforced the administration’s focus on creating a business-friendly environment that encourages both local and foreign investments.

The Expo also had the honour of welcoming Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, Honourable Minister of State, FCT, as Distinguished Guest of Honour. She was commended for her unwavering dedication to inclusive governance, sustainable growth, and community-driven development that continues to strengthen the FCT’s social and economic foundations.

A major highlight of the event was the Keynote Address delivered by Tony O. Elumelu, C.F.R., one of Africa’s most respected business leaders. Speaking on “Empowering Sustainable Growth and Unlocking Opportunities in Emerging Markets,” Elumelu emphasized entrepreneurship, innovation, and responsible investment as essential pillars for Africa’s future prosperity.

The opening day also featured goodwill messages from distinguished personalities, including Her Excellency Philda Nani Kereng, the Ambassador of Botswana to Nigeria; His Royal Highness Abubakar Sani Pai; His Royal Highness Dr. Idris Musa, MFR, Emir of Jiwa, FCT; and High Chief J.N. Green-Amakwe, who represented His Excellency Dr. Alex Otti, Governor of Abia State, and delivered his goodwill message on behalf of the state.

The plenary session, moderated by Nancy Iloh Nnaji, acclaimed producer and host of Moneyline with Nancy on AIT, provided an engaging platform for dialogue on investment, innovation, and sustainable growth strategies tailored to emerging markets.

Beyond the plenary sessions, the Expo also features an exhibition area showcasing businesses, startups, and innovations across key sectors driving sustainable development in Nigeria and beyond.
