US BEGINS MAJOR COMBAT OPERATIONS IN IRAN, ISRAEL ANNOUNCES STRIKES TOO

US and Israel strike Iran in a coordinated attack, Tehran reports explosions, smoke rises, and military tensions escalate rapidly.

The United States and Israel launched a coordinated attack on Iran on Saturday, with the first apparent strike targeting areas near the offices of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Smoke was visible over Tehran, and Iranian media reported attacks across multiple locations nationwide.

In an interview with social media, US President Donald Trump stated, “The US has begun major combat operations in Iran,” citing Iran’s ongoing nuclear program and missile development capable of reaching American territory. Prior to the strikes, the United States had deployed its largest military presence in the Middle East in decades, pressuring Iran to reach a nuclear deal and halt nationwide protests.

Iran’s Supreme National Security Council confirmed that its armed forces had “commenced a decisive response to these hostile acts,” warning citizens to avoid targeted zones. Authorities ordered the closure of schools and universities while assuring the continued operation of banks. The statement emphasized that the government had made “prior arrangements” to secure the supply of basic necessities.

Germany confirmed it had been informed in advance of Israel’s military action and is closely monitoring developments, with Chancellor Friedrich Merz consulting ministers and European partners. Nationals in Iran, Israel, and the region were advised to register with the official system for citizens abroad and follow local safety instructions.

Two officials from Iran-backed militias in Iraq disclosed that Iranian forces and allied Iraqi groups had planned coordinated responses to potential attacks, including targeting US forces in Iraq’s Kurdish region and neighboring Jordan. Kataib Hezbollah, a prominent Iraqi militia, warned of a prolonged conflict and cautioned the Kurdish regional government against collaborating with foreign forces perceived as hostile.

The Israeli military issued a warning in Persian on X, urging immediate evacuation of areas near weapons production and military facilities: “Your presence in these locations puts your lives at risk.”

Iran’s Foreign Ministry responded to the strikes, stating: “The time has come to defend the homeland and confront the enemy’s military assault The armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran will decisively respond to the aggressors with full authority.”
