The Presidential candidate of PDP Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, yesterday 25th January 2023, commissioned the Newly built Maryam Babangida Leisure Park and film village in Delta State.
Speaking at the event, Atiku commended Okowa for contributing to the growth and development of tourism in the country.
He said that only the PDP government could partner the creative industry to harness the huge potentials in the sector.
He, therefore, urged stakeholders in the industry to support the party in the upcoming General Elections
The Leisure park comprises of state of the art facilities such as the zoo with different species of animals particularly, lion. It also have an artificial lake, indoor games hall, a fun children’s park, swimming pool, an observation tower, a sit out for outdoor games, go-kart rides, restaurants and administrative building.
Adjoining the leisure park is the Film Village, a home for movie producers, with a well equipped and standard studio for various genres in movie production, an amphitheater, epic village set, guest houses, hostel facility, a clinic, staff quarters, eatery and forest setting for making of movies, among other facilities.
Other projects inaugurated by the former Vice President were the Koka Flyover and Interchange on the Asaba-Benin Expressway, Model Technical College, Asaba, Mother and Child Specialist Hospital and Advanced Diagnostics Centre, Owa-Alero in Ika North-East Local Government Area.
