NDDC Retires At Least 13 Directors Despite Resistance To 8-Year Tenure Policy

By Suoyo Ekubo

The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has forced the retirement 13 Directors in the commission with the implementation of the new 8-year Federal Civil Service Rule, which mandates Directors, who have served in the capacity for 8 years, to retire immediately.

THEWILL reports that the affected officials had resisted the directive of the Head of the Federal Service, Mrs Folashade Yemi-Esan, on the development but were eventually directed to retire by the Managing Director of the NDDC, Samuel Ogbuku, in a letter sent to the affected officials titled: “Implementation of 8 years tenure policy for Directors,” dated August 14, 2023.
