The Chairman of Akuku-Toru Local Government Area, Hon. Tonye Briggs Oniyide, has pledged the commitment of her administration in focusing on quality health care delivery and infrastructural development in Akuku-Toru Local Government Area.
Hon. Oniyide disclosed this during an inspection visit to the sites of ongoing renovation projects at the primary health care centers in Obonoma and Abonnema on Tuesday.
She said her administration will not deviate from the mandate of ensuring that the welfare needs of the people are met, assuring that in keeping with that commitment, human capacity development will also be prioritized.
Earlier, the Council Chairman had assured of her administration’s support for the growth and development of the Akuku-Toru Local Government Area.
Addressing different groups who paid her a courtesy visit at the Council secretariat, Abonnema, she said her administration will run an all-inclusive government and sued for the support of the people.
“There are so many ways through which we are engaging our people. I’m running an all-inclusive government regardless of which faction you belong to because it is my duty to catre for all.”.
“As long as you have the capacity to function within our mandate and you are being introduced, I will work with you because I do know that a lot of you have a lot to offer. So don’t worry.”
“Be rest assured that somehow, for those of you we can engage in the smooth running of the Council, we will. But for those of you who require some kind of empowerment, we will also do it, no matter how little. This administration has just started, and many things will come up as the days come.”.
She equally urged them to see themselves as part of government, saying, “Come 2027, detractors will not have a face here, and I can’t do that all by myself. I need the support of everybody.”
Hon. Tonye Briggs-Oniyide, however, called for support to enable her administration to add to the economic growth and development of the Akuku-Toru Local Government Area.
