The group said the street lights have been helpful in providing security at night as well as beautifying communities across the oil-rich region.

Chairman of the group’s transitional committee, Comr. Atti Moses, stated this on Tuesday while addressing newsmen at the NUJ Center in Yenagoa, the state capital.

“For the installation of street lights in communities in the region, it is a step in the right direction,” he said.

He also lauded the Ogbuku-led NDDC for engaging youths and giving opportunities to competent youthful contractors from the state to execute far-reaching projects.

The youth leader equally appreciated the Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, for his youth inclusiveness.

Atti added that the Governor has employed thousands of youths into his administration as a means of empowerment.

He equally applauded the Diri-led Bayelsa State Government for its efforts to restore power to the state following the four months blackout as a result of the vandalised power towers.

Similarly, Atti commended the Bayelsa state commissioner for Youth development, Hon Alfred Kemepado youth-oriented activities and initiatives in the state.

Atti assured that the forthcoming BYA election will be transparent under his watch as the chairman of the electoral committee of the youth body.
