On the evening of the 31st Day of August, 2024, family, friends, and esteemed colleagues gathered at the EUI Centre, located at Plot F11, Sani Abacha Link Road, GRA Phase 3, Port Harcourt, to celebrate a monumental occasion, the 50th birthday of Captain Iyene Amapakabo.

Captain Iyene is the General Manager and Head of Flight Operations at Aero Contractors Nigeria Ltd, Captain Amapakabo has contributed significantly to the aviation industry in Nigeria. His milestone birthday not only marks his journey through life but also highlights his achievements and leadership within the community.

Captain Amapakabo is not just a prominent figure in aviation; he is also the former President and Patron of Team Willten Aviation and currently holds the esteemed position of Chairman of the Nigerian Polo Association (NPA). His dedication to promoting the sport of polo in Nigeria reflects his passion for equestrian sports, often referred to as the “Game of Kings.” The celebrations provided a perfect platform to honor his active involvement in both aviation and sports.
