The conferment and investiture of the immediate-past executive vice president Upstream NNPCL Engr. Adokiye Tombomieye as Knight of Garrick Braide and his wife Agamy Tombomieye as Knight of Dorcas is a testament of the commitment and dedication to the growth and development of the church, their philanthropic nature that transcends families communities, religion, education, and social welfare.
The ceremony was held at St. Silas Pro-Cathedral CACN in Bille Kingdom, Degema Local Government Area on Sunday,
Speaking to newsmen Engr. Adokiye Tombomieye, while expressing appreciation for the honour, he also highlighted the need humanitarian services in the society.
He stated, “As long as God blesses us, no matter how little it is, save humanity. Not only in the house of God but the less privileged and friends. The only thing people can remember you for is what you have done. I am grateful for today that God has made this possible because some of these things happen when someone is dead, people will write tributes, but for us to be alive to see this, particularly, in the house of God there is no more honour greater than this.”
On her Lady Agamy Tombomieye stated that the conferment as Knight of Dorcas is a new beginning in the house of God, affirming that more philanthropic gestures to be perpetrated to the glory of God.
Earlier, the President of Christ Army Church Nigeria, His Eminence Dappa Opubo-Abbey described Engr Adokiye Tombomieye as a man of Character worthy of emulation for his contribution and support to the church and members of the public. “This man we are talking about I have known him for some time. He has been kind, he single-handedly built the church Auditorium here in Bille. So we encourage others to emulate his character and attitude toward things of God.”
Engr Adokiye Tombomieye is a self driving and efficient chemical engineer with broad range of proficiency and competent across the value chain of the Oil and Gas Industry who’s philanthropic gesture cuts across borders. Until his retirement, Engr Adokiye Tombomieye’s leadership skills in the oil and gas sector led to several remarkable accomplishments including the commercial recovery of hydrocarbon in the interior basins and the successful completion of several projects that benefit the nation economically.
