A State High Court in Port Harcourt has issued a bench warrant on former governor of Rivers State, Chibuike Amaechi, APC Governorship Candidate, Tonye Cole, and former Commissioner for Energy, Augustine Wokocha.
The trial Judge, Justice Chinwendu Nwogu, also issued a bench warrant on Sahara Energy Resources Limited, Chamberlain Peterside, NG powers HPS Limited, and Cenpropsaroten Management Limited over failure to appear before the court on Rivers State Government’s criminal charges against them.
As you may know, the Rivers State Government filed a fresh criminal lawsuit on misappropriation of public funds amongst other things against the former Governor during his tenure as Governor between 2007 to 2015.
The presiding Judge adjourned the matter to July 5th for the plea.
