Delta State Dominates 100m Finals at Niger Delta Sports Festival 2026
Athletes representing Delta State delivered a commanding performance in the 100-metre finals at the Niger Delta Sports Festival 2026, clinching gold medals in both the men’s and women’s categories.
In the men’s 100m final, Chibueze Osama powered to victory with an impressive time of 10.42 seconds, finishing ahead of a competitive field to secure the gold medal for Delta State. Gift Bright of Akwa Ibom State claimed the silver medal, while Saturday Godswill, also representing Delta State, settled for bronze.
The women’s 100m final saw Ejiro Peter continue Delta State’s dominance, sprinting to gold in a time of 11.58 seconds. Praise Tejiri finished in second place to earn the silver medal, while Victory Azobudi of Edo State secured bronze.
The victories further underline Delta State’s strong presence on the track, as the state continues to assert itself as a powerhouse in athletics at the regional festival.
