Family, Friends Gather for Service of Songs in Honor of Late Francis Odimegwu Odiwe (Adidas)

Family, friends, and associates gathered on December 16, 2025, to celebrate the life of the late Mr. Francis Odimegwu Odiwe, fondly known as “Adidas,” at a service of songs conducted by Pastor Stephen Olisa of Salvation Ministries. The event brought together loved ones to honor a man whose life left an indelible mark on all who knew him.

The service featured hymns, praises and worship, alongside heartfelt tributes from his family and relatives, reflecting on his life, character, and enduring legacy.

Born in 1944 into the family of Obi Francis and Christiana Odiwe of Ogboli Ibusa, Oshimili North Local Government Area, Delta State, Mr. Odiwe lived a life full of energy, passion, and purpose. His nickname, “Adidas,” reflected his lifelong love for football, a zest for life he carried into every venture he pursued.

Mr. Odiwe’s early education at St. Phillips School, Aggrey Road, Port Harcourt, laid the foundation for the discipline, curiosity, and determination that defined him. He went on to become a visionary entrepreneur and contractor, establishing successful businesses across fashion, restaurants, canopy and car rentals, transportation, and truck services. Through these ventures, he not only supported his family but also created opportunities for many others, earning respect as a leader and innovator.

In 1972, he married his lifelong partner, Mrs. Theresa Obiageli Odiwe, and together they raised six children, building a home grounded in love, faith, and unity. Known for his generosity, infectious laughter, and warmth, Mr. Odiwe was the life of every gathering and a pillar of his community.

He is survived by his wife, six children, twenty-four grandchildren, his only surviving sister, Ogbuefi Pat Ify Okwuosa, and numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces. His life was marked by kindness, resilience, and devotion to family and faith—a legacy that continues to inspire all who knew him.

Though he has departed, the spirit of Francis Odimegwu Odiwe lives on through the lives he touched, the smiles he created, and the values he instilled. His life, full of love and purpose, will forever be remembered.
