Delta state Police arrest 55-year-old drug baron, suspected kidnapper, cultists

Raiders’ operatives of Delta State Police Command have reportedly arrested 10 suspected cultistscultists after a raid in their hideout in Udu/Otu-Jeremi and Ughelli South Local Council of the state.

The Command’s spokesperson, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Bright Edafe, who confirmed the arrest, said the operatives also arrested a 55- year-old Amadu Musa and four other male suspects.

 

The police spokesman narrated the police ordeal with the following: “At about 0430hrs, a distressed call was received from an anonymous caller in Igbide community, Oleh that some hoodlums suspected to be kidnappers numbering about five, operating in a blue-coloured Toyota Camry, suspected to be conveying an abducted victim was spotted heading towards an isolated bush path in Igbide, which prompted the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Oleh Division, Superintendent of Police (SP) Paul Obaware to mobilise and led a combined team of Police/vigilantes in search of the vehicle, with a view to rescuing the victim and arresting the hoodlums.

In all, The victim was rescued unhurt and has reunited with his family, while a manhunt for members of the gang who ran away in cause of the action is ongoing.
