Diri pledges more investments in education as Wike inaugurates projects in Bayelsa

The Governor of Bayelsa State senator Douye Diri has said that his administration would continue to invest in education.

Speaking at the inauguration of new lecture theatres at the Bayelsa Medical University, Yenagoa, Gov. Diri, appreciated his colleague and party man, Governor Nyesom Wike, for honouring his invitation to be part of the 2nd anniversary and to inaugurate the project.

“Firstly, I like to give my gratitude to the immediate past governor and government, His Excellency, Senator Seriake Dickson for the vision of turning this 500 bed hospital to full fledged Bayelsa Medical University. Today, as a result of that vision, we have come to expand and work on the vision, we’re gathered here today to get more courses accredited and expanding the university in terms of what we are about to Commission.

We have a crop of very highly and mainly Distinguished medical professionals and the Governing council headed by no lesser personality in medical profession, Prof. Nimi Briggs and the Vice Chancellor, a tested hand in the medical profession.

On his part Governor Wike commended his host, Senator Diri, for his developmental efforts in just 2 years and that the PDP as a party is very happy with his achievements.

Wike who scored Gov. Diri high on projects supported the University with a sum of N500 million naira.
