It was an exciting time on Saturday as Port Harcourt City went agog for the Rotary Club of Port Harcourt District 9141’s installation of Rotr. Chinedu Ikegwuani as their District Governor for 2024/2025.
The district governors from other districts in Rivers, Bayelsa, Delta and Edo, graced the event with their presence. Additionally, past district governors and other dignitaries from within and outside Rivers State attended to witness this significant occasion.
In his acceptance speech, immediately after receiving the mantle of leadership, an elated Rtn. Chinedu Ikegwuani vowed to continue the great work that Rotary International has been doing in various communities. He further encouraged Rotarians to double their efforts to save mankind, urging others to join hands with the organization through donations, especially now that Nigerians are experiencing hard times.
The event also featured introduction of the first Rotary family, awards to deserving clubs and leaders, the induction of new members, and the appreciation of donors.
Attendees enjoyed music by Nigeria Police Force music band, cultural dance, flag parades and many more activities, making it a memorable and vibrant celebration.
