The Trendsetters Awards Africa has recognized Ivy Davies Etokakpan, Editor-in-Chief of Eve Afrique Magazine, with the Publisher of the Year Award at its recent award-giving ceremony on November 17, 2024.
Upon receiving the award, Etokakpan dedicated it to the magazine’s staff, readers, viewers, partners, clients, family, and friends, acknowledging their unwavering support since Eve Afrique’s founding in 2010.
Etokakpan also emphasized her commitment to promoting the accomplishments of the Niger Delta region through Eve Afrique’s editorial work and initiatives.
“It’s an honor to be recognized for a cause so close to my heart,” said Etokakpan. “Our mission at Eve Afrique has always been to uplift the voices of the Niger Delta and to share the remarkable stories of resilience, leadership, and success that are shaping our region.”
In addition to her editorial role, Ivy Davies Etokakpan serves as the President of Eve Afrique Empowerment Initiative, a non-governmental organization focused on empowerment in the Niger Delta. Through platforms like Southern Times, Eve Afrique News, and Eve Afrique Magazine, Etokakpan has highlighted regional achievements and fostered leadership and business awareness.
Under Etokakpan’s leadership, Eve Afrique has become a recognized voice in the Niger Delta, profiling success stories and encouraging aspiring leaders through Eve Afrique-hosted events. Her contributions have also earned acknowledgment from the Rivers State government as part of the State’s 50th Anniversary Celebration.
“Eve Afrique is a platform for people to see their potential and envision a future filled with possibility,” added Etokakpan. “By celebrating our regional heroes and driving awareness around key issues, we are not just reporting stories; we are inspiring a movement for positive change in the Niger Delta.”
Driven by a mission to raise awareness on health and societal issues, Eve Afrique also hosts the RedBall initiative, launched in 2010, which supports causes like cervical cancer, sickle cell anemia, and prostate cancer, offering screening and treatment options.
