Engineering Conference to Address National Development and Environmental Sustainability
The Rivers State University is set to host a groundbreaking conference focused on engineering practices for national economic development and environmental sustainability. The event, themed “ENGINEERING PRACTICE FOR NATIONAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY,” will feature a series of sub-themes aimed at addressing critical aspects of engineering advancement.
The conference, scheduled to take place from June 20th to 21st, 2024, at the Amphitheatre of the Rivers State University, will feature distinguished keynote speakers including Engr. Sir Adokiye Tombomieye, former Executive Vice President-Upstream, NNPCL, Nigeria, and Engr. Prof. Sadiq Z. Abubakar, President of COREN, Nigeria with the Chief Host of the event being Prof. Nlerum S. Okogbule, Vice Chancellor of Rivers State University.
The sub themes for this educative event include advances in agricultural machinery development and utilization, computing and artificial intelligence, developments in road transport infrastructure and structural designs, energy and power systems engineering, environmental monitoring and protection, industrial machinery and systems design, the Nigerian blue economy, oil and gas engineering systems, power and telecommunication engineering practices, renewable energy engineering, and soil and water resources engineering and management.
The conference planning committee is chaired by Engr. Prof. Jackson G. Akpa, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Rivers State University, with Engr. Prof. Asinyetogha H. Igoni serving as the Secretary.
It presents a unique opportunity for experts, researchers, and stakeholders to engage in discussions and collaborations aimed at driving engineering advancements for national development and environmental sustainability.
