Enugu State Empowers 20,000 Farmers with Free Agricultural Inputs
Enugu State Government has rolled out a massive agricultural empowerment initiative, targeting more than 20,000 farmers across its 17 local government areas.
The beneficiaries will receive a wide range of inputs including tractors, fertilizers, improved cassava stems, cocoa seedlings, grains, herbicides, and pesticides— all aimed at boosting food production and agricultural development in the state.
The official flag-off ceremony is being held at Okpara Square, where farmers from the 260 political wards are present to benefit directly from the scheme.
According to the government, over 40,000 bags of fertilizer and other essential inputs will be distributed under the programme. The intervention is part of Governor Peter Mbah’s agro-scheme designed to empower rural farmers, improve yields, and strengthen food security across Enugu State.
