The Executive Chairman of Akuku-Toru Local Government Area, Hon. Mrs Tonye Briggs Oniyide has challenged newly sworn in Supervisors and Special Advisers in the Local Government Area to be upright and dedicated in the discharge of their duties.
The Chairman who gave the charge yesterday shortly after the administration of oath of office on the Supervisors and Special Advisers at the Council Headquarters, Abonnema, appealed to them to ensure they add value to the new role given them.
“I congratulate you and urge you to put in your best in the service of our Local Government Area and ensure that you work with your colleagues and leaders”.
“You’ve been appointed as supervisors and advisors because there is something you’re doing that the leadership has seen that you’re doing right. And I want to let you know that people are observing what you do”, she noted.
The Council Boss, also re-emphasized that her administration is an all inclusive one where everyone is expected to do their best; and urged the new appointees to remain responsive to the needs of the populace.
“I believe in doing the right thing for our people. I have one leader who is His Excellency Governor Siminalayi Fubara”
“I believe that every leader you believe in, who has contributed to your success today, is also loyal to our Principal. So bear in mind that you are not here to please me. If you’re ready to work with me, I’ll be ready to work with you”.
In their acceptance speech, the Supervisor for Transport Pastor Henry Tari Agbuko, as well as the Special Adviser on Legislative Matters Hon. Igobo Albert who spoke on behalf of other members, thanked the Executive Chairman for finding them worthy to serve and pledged their readiness to discharge their duties effectively.
