Federal Government Girls College (FGGC) Abuloma Celebrates 50th Anniversary.

It was a momentous day in the history of Federal Government Girls College (FGGC) Abuloma as the Old Girls Association celebrated its 50th Anniversary.

The theme, “Roots of Golden Fruits: Remembering the Past, Celebrating the Present, and Empowering the Future,” resonated deeply with the gathering of esteemed guests, dignitaries, and old girls from across the country.

The celebration took place at the Golden Hall, Kingoliza Event Center, on October 9, 2025. The atmosphere was electric, filled with excitement and nostalgia as old friends reunited and shared stories of their time in school.

Among the dignitaries present were Honorable Minister of Education, Dr. Musuf Tunji Alausa, represented by Mrs. Inyang Ukpe, Director/Principal FGC Port Harcourt; HRH Brigadier General Dr. Bright Alike Fiboinumama (RTD); Chief Barr. Dumo Lulu-Briggs; and HRH King Air Commodore T.E. Ogube (Rtd), Supreme Monarch of Kirike Kingdom.

The guest speaker, Chinenye Mba-Uzoukwu, Principal Secretary/Chief Strategy Officer of the Government of Abia State, delivered an inspiring message, emphasizing the importance of empowering the next generation. Other speakers included Chioma Yvonne Afe, Director, External Affairs and Social Performance, Seplat Energy PLC, and Dr. (Mrs.) Inyingi Sabina.I Brown, Head of Service, Government of Rivers State, who delivered the keynote address.

The highlight of the event was the commissioning of the Legacy Park and Digital Classroom at FGGC Abuloma, a gesture of the Old Girls Association’s commitment to giving back to their alma mater. The students welcomed the gesture with enthusiasm, singing and cheering as the old girls walked into the school premises.

The celebration continued with a day filled with music, dance, and merriment. The students of FGGC showcased their talents with a dance presentation that highlighted the beauty of diversity and oneness. The cultural dance group of Abuloma also entertained the audience with their captivating performance.

As the event drew to a close, awards were presented to past and present principals in appreciation of their dedication and service to the school. It was a day filled with joy, gratitude, and celebration of the college’s rich history and heritage.
