About three persons have been reported dead and many others still missing following a fire outbreak in oru-Amaboko community in Degema local government area of Rivers state.
According to reports by some residents of community, the fire started about 2am on Sunday when a boat that was impounded and set ablaze by officials of the Nigerian Navy over illegal bunkering activities, was swept to the shoreline of the community due to the heavy wind and the flood tide.
Meanwhile the Amadabo of Oru-Amaboko community Alaibiye West, called on government to urgently intervene in restoring the community to its original state.
