Gov. Diri admitted into Africa SME Hall of Fame

Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has been honoured and admitted into the Africa Small and Medium Entreprises (SME) Hall of Fame for his contribution to the growth of SMEs in his State.

The recognition was made at the first African Union Small and Medium Enterprises annual forum held in Cairo, the Egyptian capital with participants drawn from different African countries.

The AU Commission had developed the AU SME Development Strategy and Action Plan as policy guidelines “for promoting intra-regional and intra-African trade by integrating African MSMEs into regional and global value chains.”

The Director-General, Bayelsa State Microfinance and Enterprise Development Agency(BYMEDA), Dr. Embeleakpo Apere, who led a delegation from Bayelsa State to the forum received the award on behalf of the Governor.

The President of All Africa Association for Small and Medium Enterprises (AAASME) and Current Mauritius Ambassador to Russia, H.E,Amb(Prof.) Chandan Kheswer Jankee, will visit Bayelsa State soon to officially decorate the Governor.
