GOV ENO HANDSOVER COMPASSIONATE HOME TO A WIDOW IN IKOT EKPENE

Pursuant of his administration’s commitment to improving the lives of citizens, particularly vulnerable and less privileged, Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has handed over a fully-furnished two bedroom bungalow with solar-powered amenities to a widow, Mrs. Christiana Michael Tom, of Atan village, in Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area.

The Governor handed over the home shortly after commissioning the newly constructed 1.1 Kilometer spring road including a 0.875km discharge drain- a lifeline project that connects the renowned Goretti Girls Secondary School, ending over a decade of hardship for students, teachers, and residents of the area.

The Governor who commended the Humanitarian team for their dedication to interpreting his vision and always ensuring the right people are spotted to benefit in his humanitarian gesture.

Speaking at the event, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Humanitarian Affairs, Elder Nsikan Umoekpo, described the house as one of the new sets of houses that Governor Eno is donating to homeless people in his target of completing 200 compassionate homes in his second year in Office.

In her response, the beneficiary, Madam Christiana Tom who was visibly overwhelmed, appreciated the Governor for remembering and touching the lives of the poorest of the poor, prayed for God’s continuous blessings on the Governor, his family and the State.
