by Suoyo Ekubo

The Bayelsa state Governor Senator Douye Diri has sworn in two judges of Bayelsa state High Court on Wednesday 8 2023.

Those sworn-in are Charlie Ebinyo Duke and Amadise Michael Ekadi.

Governor Diri while swearing in the new judges said, “On the 30th of December, 2022, four judges were sworn in, now, the judiciary has two new ones added to them, but more importantly, is the work load on the judiciary because judges are under pressure as a result of the very numerous matters before them.

“In fulfilling the parameters of the National Judicial commission for appointing judges, these two gentlemen are ably qualified to be part and parcel of the Bayelsa State Judiciary.”

Diri also charged them to do justice always.

He said “My charge to you is that, as simple as this ceremony looks, you should know the kind of office you are coming into. This is an office between you and God, and the lives of those coming to your court are before you and God. Your conduct and your perception in line with the constitution of this country will go a long way in you, delivering justice.

“You are coming in at a transitional period, a period that we are all praying for our elections not to marred with violence. We are all praying that our elections should be conducted in a transparent, free and fair manner. I charge you to live above board, and to give justice no matter who is involved. I believe that God being with you, you will excel,” Governor Diri said.
