The Executive Chairman Akuku-Toru Local Government Area Hon. Tonye Briggs-Oniyide, DSSRS, FWASCA has sworn in New Executives of the Soku Community Development Committee (CDC) Members and Soku Youths Committee Development Committee, to pilot the affairs of the Community.
Hon. Mrs. Tonye Briggs-Oniyide, addressing the Committee Members on Thursday, 12th December 2024 after the swearing-in Ceremony in Abonnema, charged both Excos to remain focused and discharge their duties with diligence and transparency.
She also appealed to Members of the Exco to always ensure they do not engage in activities that will not bring Growth and Development in the Area, noting that SOKU is one very important Community in Akuku-Toru Local Government Area.
The Chairman, Tonye Oniyide, also reaffirmed her commitment to ensure that her Administration ensures a true and transparent Leadership towards the Economic growth of the Communities in the LGA.
Commending the Traditional Rulers of the Soku Community Council of Chiefs, Chief Opuda Orumo, said the Council will ensure necessary measures are put in place to support their needs. The Chairman also promised to provide Generator for the Community.
In his speech the Traditional Ruler of the Soku Community Council of Chiefs, Chief Opuda Orumo, acknowledged and Congratulated the Executive Chairman, Akuku-Toru LGA Hon. Mrs. Tonye Briggs-Oniyide for her numerous efforts in developing Communities in less than One year in office.

Earlier the Executive Chairman Hon. Mrs Tonye Briggs-Oniyide inspected the ongoing construction project at the Council secretariat Abonnema, to ascertain the level work done.
