Jamaica marks 60th Independence Day Anniversary, Collaborates with Nigerian High Commission,

In commemoration of Jamaica’s landmark 60th Independence Day Anniversary, the Jamaican Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sports in collaboration with the Nigerian High Commission, is showcasing an excerpt of the Seki Dance Drama (“A Night in the Motherland”) as part of the Seville emancipation jubilee “Reigniting the African Spirit”.

In view with the common ancestry with the Caribbean Seki Dance performance will serve as a means of showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the indigenous people of the Niger delta, Nigeria and by extension Africa.

The event which is scheduled for Sunday 31st July will be attended by high profile Nigerian delegation, top Jamaican government officials and members of the diplomatic corps.
