…Calls for Tinubu’s help
Mothers and well meaning women across the length and breath of Rivers State have joined their faith through prayers in condemning the recent political crisis that nearly engulfed the State from Sunday 29th October, 2023 to a better part of last week.
Rising from a 3-day intercessory prayer session for the State, the mothers stated that they observed with dismay the events of the past few days leading to the fire outbreak at the hallowed chamber of the Rivers State House of Assembly, and the aggressive attack by the Nigeria Police, Rivers State command on His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, the Executive Governor of Rivers State.
The mothers frowned at the unsalutary developments and prayed to God that never again shall our dear State experience such. In a joint release signed by Mrs Stella Davies Iyalla, spokesperson, Deaconess Jemina Ewhor and Prayer Leader Mrs Victoria Martins, the trio while addressing mothers at the end of the session, charged them to sustain the momentum in other to shame the devil whose ultimate aim is to cause disaffection, kill and destroy the good plans of God.
Mrs Iyalla stated that as mothers, who understand the cry of a baby, we could not fold our arms watching our dear State go up in flames, hence the need to embark on a 3 day intercessory prayers for the State and ended with the appeal to all the warring factions to sheath their swords and accept the cries of mothers.
“We are on our knees also calling on our dear President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, who is the father of the nation and his dear wife, Senator Remi Tinubu our fellow Mother to take a deeper reflection into the festering political crisis that nearly threw our dear State into crisis and bring a lasting peace.”
“Our worries stem from the fact that in all wars or political disorders, mothers and children are the worst hit and the fatality rate is usually unpredictable”, she concluded.
