NDDC news recap

Over the week the management of the Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC commenced the monitoring and evaluation of its post graduation scholarship program to appraise the development and welfare of the students in the United Kingdom.

Also, the Managing Director/CEO, NDDC, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, represented by the Executive Director Projects, NDDC, Sir Victor Antai, receives the Minister, Niger Delta Development, Engr. Abubakar Momoh, at the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport, Owerri, Imo State.

The visit is in continuation of the Honorable Minister’s visit to the 9 NDDC States where he is expected to interact with stakeholders and inspect some ongoing projects of the Commission.

Lastly, The Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, says that it deployed modern technology to tackle the erosion scourge in Sangana community, in Brass local Government Area of Bayelsa State. This follows the recent devastating ocean surge in the community.

Speaking during an inspection of the eroded shoreline, the NDDC Managing Director, Dr Samuel Ogbuku, stated that the intervention of the Commission was a response to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s directive for urgent action to ameliorate the sufferings of the people.

He described President Tinubu as a caring leader who had the interest of the people at heart, hence his call to action in the wake of what was considered to be one of the worst ecological disasters in the Niger Delta region.

Ogbuku, who was accompanied by the NDDC Executive Director, Projects, Sir Victor Antai, visited the community for an on-the-spot assessment of the level of devastation, donated relief materials for the immediate needs of the people who were displaced by the ocean surge.
