A New Book “THE IZON PEOPLE OF LONDON” about the Ijaw people of the Niger Delta region of Nigeria has been published, the book was published by the “Niger Delta Peace Initiative & Development”.
The book largely chronicles the early years of the IPA(GB & Ireland) and background of several of its founding Fathers in the 1940s. It focuses on the Ijaws of London and how some of us came to settle in London/uk.
It features a few of us on this platform (ie, London Ijaw&GlobalFriends), including Rev Frank Akpanari(pg 180), Datoru Paul-Worika (pg 198), Dr Boma Douglas (pg219), Rowland Ekperi (pg 204), INC-E Chairman, John Opuogulaya(pg 208), Barbara Odisi (pg 222), Dr Edwin Sawacha(pg177) and myself(pg 213/214).
The book represents a fabulous source for reference and information about The Izon (Ijaw) People of London.
Our Ijaw brother, Benaebi B and his team have done us all proud, coming up with this historic in-depth record of Ijaw history.
Those interested in researching the Ijaw/Izon culture with specific reference to the Ijaws of London will find this book a real gem; indeed, indispensable part of their library.
The book is available on Amazon @£14.
