NIGERIAN IGP REDEPLOYS DIG GUMEL, 17 CP
The Nigerian Inspector-General of Police, Olukayode Egbetokun, has ordered the immediate deployment of Deputy Inspector-General (DIG) Mohammed Usaini Gumel and 17 Commissioners of Police (CPs) to various departments and state commands across the country.
According to Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi (posted via the Force’s official X handle), the move is designed to strengthen operational capacity, enhance public safety, and improve service delivery nationwide.
Under the new arrangement, DIG Mohammed Usaini Gumel has been appointed to lead the Force Intelligence Department (FID).
Three states received new police chiefs:
Delta State: CP Aina Adesola
Kebbi State: CP Umar Mohammed Hajedia
Bayelsa State: CP Iyamah Daniel Edobor

Several other senior officers were posted to strategic units and police colleges:

CP Johnson Ayodeji Babalola: Special Enquiries Bureau, FCID, Abuja

CP Cyril Uchenna Obiozo: Maritime Command, Lagos
CP Lasisi A. Titilola: Railway Command, Lagos
CP Obuagbaka C. John: Safer Highway, Dept. of Operations, Force HQ
CP Tabitha Bako: Deputy Commandant, Police College, Kaduna
CP Umar Ali Fagge: Deputy Commandant, Police College, Ikeja
CP Samuel Yerima: Coordinator of Courses, Police Staff College, Jos
CP Alhaji Mohammed Danlandi: X-Squad, FCID Annex, Kaduna
Other postings include CP Audu Garba Bosso to General Investigation (Kaduna), CP Edwin Esiunnoh Ogbeghagha to Community Policing (Abuja), CP Arikpo Ofem Ikpi to the Investment Office, and CP Richard Bala Gara to the Department of Training and Development.
IGP Egbetokun charged the newly deployed officers to provide result-oriented leadership while upholding professionalism, integrity, and the rule of law in their respective roles.
