Bayelsa Gov. Diri Moves Motion to Endorse Tinubu’s Re-Election

Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, alongside key stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, has declared total support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.

The endorsement was made at an APC stakeholders’ meeting held at the DSP Alamieyeseigha Memorial Banquet Hall, Yenagoa, where Governor Diri called on politicians to shun intimidation and divisive politics and instead focus on governance, development, and people-centred leadership.

The meeting marked Governor Diri’s first official engagement with APC stakeholders since his defection to the party on November 3, 2025, and reflected a renewed political alignment within the state.

Addressing party leaders and members, Diri assured President Tinubu of overwhelming support from Bayelsa State in the 2027 general election, pledging what he described as 100 per cent commitment to the party’s success.

Discussions at the meeting focused on strengthening party unity and preparations for the launch of the APC electronic registration exercise across the state.

A motion endorsing President Tinubu’s re-election was moved by Governor Diri and seconded by Senator Konbowei Benson and former Deputy Governor, Peremobowei Ebebi. The motion was unanimously adopted through a voice vote.
