Nigerian Navy Pays Courtesy Visit To MD/CEO of NDDC In Port Harcourt

The Flag Officer Commanding (FOC), Eastern Naval Command, Rear Admiral Sahid Adesina Akinwande today, led officers and men of the Nigerian Navy on a courtesy call to the MD/CEO of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku at the Commission’s Headquarters in Port Harcourt.

Speaking on behalf of the Nigerian Navy, Akinwande expressed the sincere appreciation of the Nigerian Navy to the NDDC for the support given them over the years.
He said, “I sincerely thank you for making out time to receive my team and I to the Commission. It is customary that when we have a new FOC, we pay a courtesy visit to stakeholders of the region. We appreciate the support given to the Nigerian Navy by the NDDC over the years and we seek for your continuous support and collaboration as we are ready to collaborate and cooperate with you in making our maritime environment safe and secured for our people.”

The MD/CEO of the Niger Delta Development Commission, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku while receiving Officers and Men of the Nigerian Navy requested for a minute of silence to be observed in honour of the brutally murdered soldiers in Delta State.

Responding to the Navy, Dr. Ogbuku highlighted the contributions of the Nigerian Military to the peaceful Niger Delta region and appealed for more professionalism in tackling insecurity in the region. He also assured them of NDDC’s continuous support and collaboration with the military to ensure sustainable peace that will usher in development to the Niger Delta region.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is very committed to the peace and development of the Niger Delta region and has given us a matching order to embark on legacy projects that will stand the test of time and impact lives in the region. We can not achieve this if there is no peace.
For us in NDDC, we are ready to collaborate with you to ensure that there is sustainable peace that will usher in development. You have made so much sacrifice to ensure the safety of the region and we will compliment you by executing legacy projects in your barracks and other supports.” Ogbuku added.
