Wikki Tourist vs Bayelsa United match day 13 fixture on Sunday at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, Bauchi was characterized with violence after Wikki Tourist fans attacked players and officials of Bayelsa United.
Bayelsa United media official David Ekpela and the club’s chairman Mr Ebiki Timitimi sustained bruises on their faces after they were beaten by the unruly fans of the host team.
Also, Bayelsa United cameraman Kelvin Member was held hostage by Wikki Tourist officials who forced him to delete shots taken during the attack on players and officials of United.
The game was halted on 62 minutes when the assistant referee ruled an offside, immediately Wikki Tourist fans encroached on the pitch threatening the match officials while Bayelsa United players and officials were held hostage and disallowed from leaving the stadium.
The match ended full-time 1-2 in favour of Bayelsa United.
