The 3rd Annual Quiz Competition for Primary Schools in the old Port Harcourt Township area organised by the Old Port Harcourt Town Neighborhood Association comes up October 15 – 16, 2024 at The Agbani Daerego Cultural Center, Bende Street, Port Harcourt.
Speaking on the plans for the competition, the planning committee chairman, Mr. Datonye Harry said plans are ongoing to host this year’s annual quiz competition, with 24 public schools in the old Port Harcourt Township area ready to compete amongst themselves in this third edition of the quiz competition. He further said that prizes for the competition include cash gifts, trophies, medals, back to school items and other consolation prizes.
The Administrator of the group, Jennifer Princewill stated that the group took the initiative to start the quiz competition 3 years ago to help the pupils gain self confidence and more knowledge through studying hard, also to promote educational excellence and empowerment. She called on individuals and corporate institutions, especially those in the old Port Harcourt Township area to support the initiative.
The old Port Harcourt Town Neighborhood Association is a non political, non sectarian, and non religious affiliated group of persons that grew up, living and still living in the old Port Harcourt Township area. It is primarily about physical get together, having fun through gathering and reconnecting, and for philanthropic activities.
