Port Harcourt Boat Club 1947 hosts Boating Festival

The Port Harcourt Boat Club 1947 announce her upcoming event, “PORTHARCOURTBOATFEST 2024.” on the 30TH April/May 1, 2024.

Established in the year 1947, the Port Harcourt Boat Club stands as a beacon of tradition, elegance, and community in the heart of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria.

With a history deeply rooted in the pre-colonial era, the club has evolved over the decades to become a distinguished
organization catering to the elites and nobles of society.

Speaking with our correspondent, the Chairman of the Boating festival, Egnr Daso George said ” as the Port Harcourt Boat Club approaches its 77th anniversary in 2024, we are thrilled to
announce “PORTHARCOURTBOATFEST 2024,” a two-day extravaganza that promises to be a celebration of
African boating cultural heritage hitherto unexperienced in our Part of the world.

“Under the banner of “Reviving the African Boating Cultural Heritage,” PORTHARCOURTBOATFEST 2024 seeks to honor and showcase the deep-rooted traditions surrounding boating that have been integral to the region’s history. This theme resonates not only with the club’s rich legacy but also
with the broader cultural tapestry of the African continent.”

The event’s HIGHLIGHTS includes,
Day 1 – Brand celebrations of all partners and African run way
Day 2 – Boating Festival: A celebration of African boating heritage with an exhibition of delicacies,
complemented by boating activities in the river. Club members with boats will participate by
launching into the river.
By aligning with PORTHARCOURTBOATFEST 2024.

Also speaking, the Vice Commodore of the Port Harcourt Boat 1947, Professor Miebaka Tamunomiebi called on men and women of goodwill including Corporate Nigeria to come partner with this laudable initiative that is capable of rejigging the tourism sector of Rivers State.

He said ” Your partnership will contribute significantly to the success of this event,
fostering community engagement, and showcasing your commitment to cultural preservation.”

Also speaking,the Rear Commodore of the Club, Sir Dan Harrison assured all intending Partners of topnotch publicity through event branding, media coverage, and promotional materials. He further stated that “We believe that your involvement will not only enhance the festival’s success but also provide valuable visibility for your organization.We would be delighted to discuss this partnership opportunity further and explore how your
