The people of Bukuma (Agum) community will soon heave a sigh of relief, as the Executive Chairman of Degema Local Government Area, Tuesday, visited the community, where he made a commitment to improve on the current state of their health facilities.
The Council Chairman stated that he would partner with the relevant authorities to give the community a functional healthcare centre within the shortest possible time.
Speaking earlier at the palace of the Nwamoema (King) of Bukuma, HRH King Stephen Jeremiah Tobins, Akii X, Dr. Harry appealed to all factions in the kingship tussle to maintain the peace of the community.
He assured the Traditional ruler of expeditiously exploring means to resolve the matter, adding that no development could take place in a rancorous atmosphere.
Speaking on the Yuletide season, Harry promised to light up the town square and equally address the issue of potable water in Bukuma community.
On the appeal for the construction of teachers quarters and rehabilitation of schools in Bukuma, the seasoned technocrat promised to give priority to education, hinting about his lofty plans for the sector in the coming year.
He however tasked the community to provide accommodations for the teachers as part of their contribution towards reducing the inconveniences experienced by those deployed to schools in their community because government can not do it alone.
On his part, the Nwamoema of Bukuma, HRH King. Stephen Jeremiah Tobins, Akii X, thanked the Council Chairman for fulfilling his promise of visiting the community after the Council elections, describing it as a good sign of a leader with character and integrity.
The traditional ruler however used the occasion of the Chairman’s visit to make some requests including; building a primary health centre for the community, expansion of the existing water facility, construction of teachers’ quarters, establishment of agro industry, amongst others.
