“Rotary Club of Port Harcourt Cosmopolitan and Rotaract Club of Miles and Tower Collaborate with NAPTIP to Mark World Day Against Human Trafficking
On Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at 74 Nkpogu Road, off Trans Amadi, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, the Rotary Club of Port Harcourt Cosmopolitan and Rotaract Club of Miles and Tower partnered with the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) to commemorate the 2024 World Day Against Human Trafficking.
Theme: Leave No Child Behind in the Fight Against Human Trafficking
The event aimed to eradicate human trafficking in the state, emphasizing that freedom from slavery is a fundamental human right. Keynote speaker Prof. Daniel Uranta from the University of Port Harcourt discussed the fight against human trafficking.
Rtn. Koko Cresto, South South Coordinator, ASOHON, expressed her passion for protecting children and pledged to ensure that no child trafficking case goes unpunished. She advocated for faster and stricter persecution of traffickers, emphasizing the need to safeguard children’s fundamental rights to safety, security, care, and protection.
The event concluded with a renewed commitment to child protection and a call to action to create a world where every child is free from fear, exploitation, and harm.”
