A Lady identified as Nnena Onu Obini, also known as Nancy, from Ohaozara in Ebonyi State who is staff at Nwayioma Hotel in Egbema, Onelga, in Rivers state was reportedly tortured to death some days ago over the shortage of N17,500 in the hotel where she works.
The management of the hotel ordered some co-workers to lock her up in a room for four days without food and water.
Nancy was locked up and she became weak on the 3rd day and was rushed to the hospital where she reported dead.
Meanwhile, the Onelga Chairman, Hon. Vincent, has Condemns Gruesome Murder of Nancy at Nwayioma Hotel, Ebocha.
He described the act as barbaric, ungodly, inhuman and uncivilized.
The council chairman also noted that there had been a call for justice over the killing of Nancy, a resident of Ogba Egbema Ndoni Local Government Area, appealing for tempered comments and calm among residents while investigation is ongoing to find out the remote and immediate causes of the incident; which he said is a matter of concern.
He further charged the security agencies to intensify investigation into the dastardly acts, and by leaving no stone unturned to fish out the perpetrators.
While commiserating with the family of the victim, he urged the residents not to take the laws into their hands.
