GOV. FUBARA SAYS PEACE BRINGS COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

…Thanks God for benevolence towards Rivers State

Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, on Sunday made his first public outing since resuming office, attending the 2025 Polo Harvest Thanksgiving service at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Opobo.

The Governor, who was accompanied by his wife, Lady Valerie Fubara, the First Lady of Rivers State, along with close friends, used the occasion to call on Rivers people to embrace peace as the foundation of unity and sustainable development.

According to him, peace remains the greatest asset any community can desire. “The greatest thing anybody can wish for in life is peace. Peace in the community brings development to the people. Peace with yourself is good health, and that is the most important thing,” he stressed.

Linking his message to the International Day of Peace being commemorated globally, Governor Fubara urged Rivers people to hold peace as a lasting symbol of unity and growth for the State.

While explaining that his intention was to attend the service quietly as a son of the church and to glorify God for His benevolence, the Governor noted that he would return at a later date for a larger thanksgiving. He expressed gratitude to the church and Rivers people for their steadfast prayers, which he said remain a source of strength to him, his family, and the government.

The service also featured special prayers offered by the church for Governor Fubara and his wife, sealing the thanksgiving with blessings for divine guidance in his leadership journey.
