The 4th Edition of Port Harcourt Fashion Week opened the 2025 calendar with an exhilarating surge of creativity at the EUI Event Center, where fashion lovers, industry leaders, and culture enthusiasts gathered for a night that set a powerful tone for the days ahead.

From the first spotlight cue, the runway radiated with energy as designers from across Nigeria and beyond unveiled collections that blended heritage with contemporary expression. Models moved beneath shimmering lights, each stride capturing the artistic pulse that continues to define Port Harcourt’s evolving fashion scene.

Day One featured a rich and diverse lineup of designers whose aesthetics transformed the runway into a tapestry of colour, movement, and craftsmanship. The showcase included:

One of the night’s defining moments was the “Walk for Hope,” a moving tribute that brought elderly men and women — pillars of their families and communities — onto the runway. Their presence bridged generations, illuminating the enduring spirit that guides Port Harcourt’s creative future.

Senior Citizens of Rivers State who continue to inspire the new generation also graced the runway for the Walk Of Hope these personalities, includes: Mrs Ivy Davies Etokakpan, Editor-in-Chief of Eve Afrique News; Eniye Ambakeremo, economic empowerment expert and pioneer Director General of the Bayelsa State Partnership Initiative Agency; Chief (Dr.) Emi Membere Otaji, MD, OON, DSSRS, Dien Piribo II of Kalabari Kingdom; Hon. Aye Atama Pepple the MD of the Rivers State Signage Board; Chief Kate Stanley; Mr. Sibo Briggs; Mr. Bobo Atama Pepple; Mr. Godwill Etim, MD Goodies Chemicals; and Mase Bob Manuel, convener of the Enjoyment People’s Party.

Their presence added cultural depth and prestige to the event, rooting the night in history while celebrating its futuristic vision.

As the show advanced, creativity surged from both emerging and established brands — designs flowing from minimal elegance to bold, expressive statements. The runway became a living canvas of style, craftsmanship, and innovation.

When the final beat echoed through the hall, the spotlight fell on South African designer Georges Malelu Maseru, whose collection — an exuberant blend of bold patterns, flowing silhouettes, and masterful tailoring — brought the house to its feet. His finale reaffirmed fashion’s power to inspire, unite, and uplift.

By the time the lights dimmed, the EUI Event Center had transformed into the heartbeat of African fashion. Conversations lingered, cameras continued flashing, and excitement stirred for what the rest of the week would hold.

Day One wasn’t just an opening night — it was the beginning of something bigger. Port Harcourt is ready to make history.
